孤独の旅人

新卒の頃
近くに
滝が凍っている所を教えられて
雪道を車で出かけたことがある
近くに行くと
確かに凍った滝

若かったのか
ただ
滝が凍っている程度の
観察眼しかなかった

若いと言うことは
いろいろなことを見過ごしてしまう
でも
それはそれでいいと思っている

旅をして
同じ所を訪れてみると
若かりし頃に感じたものとは
まったく違ったという経験は
何度となくある

過日
日光を訪れたときは
もっと広かったように思っていてけれども
意外にこぢんまりとしていることに
驚きをもった
そして
五重塔があったことなど
まったく記憶にはなかった

年をとって
ものごとに
ゆとりをもって見られることが
いろいろ
新しいものを
発見できているのかも知れない

見落としているものも
とっても多いかも知れないけれども……
